A typical Mediterranean Biot jar can take the form of a generously curved teardrop, an elongated olive, or “Bugadier, a wider form decorated with a braided provencal motif.
Bugadier comes from the Provencal word Bugado (laundry), which means it was used for washing laundry.
Bugadier jars add to the beauty of any garden or terrace, whether in their role as “cache-pots” or as flower displays. The blend of purity of line, and tapering neck, are what makes these vases unique works or art. Their blend of modernity and tradition will enhance any interior.
All our Bugadiers are made in France by Poterie de la Madeleine in the Anduze region tradition.
